Who we areChristian Campus House is a non-denominational Christian campus ministry serving college students and young people from Eastern Illinois University and Lake Land College. While our ministry's roots are in the Restoration Movement, we serve students from many faith backgrounds. All are welcome to join us as we unpack what it means to follow Jesus. We strive to lead students to engage in 3 primary directions: with Christ and what His Gospel means for our lives, with Christian community as iron sharpening iron, and with Campus as ambassadors for His Kingdom.

How we got here
"Eastern-Lake Land Christian Campus Ministry"
That's what we were called in 1970 after local Christians from Central Christian Church saw the need for a campus ministry to reach the area's college students. After moving from an office space to a small house (hence our current name), the ministry grew enough so that by 1972, Sunday morning worship services began in Booth Library Auditorium.

"Covenant House"
By 1977, the growing ministry purchased a former fraternity house - later named Covenant House. The vision was to provide housing for students as an alternative to residence halls or off-campus apartments, creating a living space friendly toward fostering faith among the young people living there.

"Christian Campus Fellowship"
A new name and a new building were part of the early '80's. In addition to the student housing, CCF now had space for offices, an area for worship services, a baptistery, and a couple more student bedrooms. Although "Campus House" was still the common reference, CCF would become the name still used today to register with EIU as a student organization.

"Christian Campus House"
By the 1990's, Christian Campus House had seen the Lord working in great ways to draw young people to Himself through the staff and students at CCH. Along with the increasing student numbers, the growing campus ministry staff brought passion and creativity, developing the ministry to include student leadership training, small groups, creative worship, and more in addition to the Sunday and Wednesday preaching and teaching.

"Building For The Future"
In the early 2000's, with both EIU and CCH continuing to expand in size, the Lord blessed us with resources to build a new addition. Now there would be no need for students to turn and leave because there were no seats remaining for them to worship alongside their peers. Up to today, the ministry still continues to morph and change as new staff, new interns, and new students bring their own gifts and abilities in service to the Lord to see His Kingdom make in-roads in students' lives.
