November 6-8, 2020
Activities begin at 8pm on Friday night and end with the close of Sunday Morning Worship (around noon).
why attend the engage weekend?
If you're a high school student, college decisions are just around the corner. State university? Private college? Bible college? Are there Christians on secular campuses that I can connect with? Before that time sneaks up on you, come spend a weekend with us and be inspired that you CAN thrive as a Christian on a secular campus; you CAN meaningfully engage with Christ, with Christian community, and with campus!
what to expect
Expect to be encouraged, feel what campus ministry is like, and make fun memories! You'll interact with college-aged believers through meaningful conversations about life as Christians in college, prayer & devotions, games & activities, our annual Barn Dance, Sunday Morning Worship, and more. We'll visit the EIU campus, hang out at the Christian Campus House, and provide opportunity to spend some time around Charleston.
cost
$10 per person if sleeping at CCH.

Housing & Dining
Housing
Groups can stay in one of two possible locations - either the Christian Campus House itself OR in Lawson Hall (an EIU residence hall). Wherever you have students sleeping - whether CCH or Lawson - you must also have at least 1 adult chaperone also sleeping in the same location. See arrangements below.
Option #1: Stay at Christian Campus House:
$10 per person
Basic bedding (sleeping bag/pillow) is necessary...air mattresses or cots encouraged! (There's plenty of space.) We'll split guys & girls upstairs and downstairs, with each floor having several toilets & its own shower. Be sure to pack your toiletries, linens & towel, a Bible, casual clothes, Barn Dance clothes (think country line-dancing!), and church clothes (Sunday's attire is nice/casual).
Option #2: Stay in Lawson Hall (HIGHLY encouraged for a great "college-like" experience!):
$30 per person | We MUST know if you'd like to sleep at Lawson no later than Oct 25.
Participants can stay in Lawson Hall right across from CCH to experience a residence hall and have an actual bed! We will occupy the 2nd floor of Lawson as a private floor our group. There will be an "RA" but no other college students. The setup has males down one secured hallway and females down a separate secured hallway. Each person will receive a key to the building, the 2nd floor hallway, and your own room. Each room is double occupancy with 2 extra-long twin beds, 2 desks, and mini-fridge. (Single rooms are available also.) Pillows, blankets & towels are provided. You'll need to bring your own bed sheets (but extras are available if needed). Both the male and female sides each have 4 self-contained, fully private bathrooms (shower, toilet, sink), including 1 handicapped accessible bathroom. There is a shared lounge on the floor with a TV, couches, tables, and iron. A free laundry room is available with detergent and an oven/stove. EIU WiFi is available. With your RSVP, please include the full names of everyone planning to sleep at Lawson. (We are required to submit this list to EIU.)
Dining
If you have any food allergies or dietary needs, please let us know. We'll provide snacks, Saturday & Sunday breakfasts, and Saturday lunch. Evening meals & Sunday lunch are on your own.
